VM Motori Australia
The VM Motori range of air and water cooled diesel engines have been distributed in Australia for over 40 years. Much of the brand’s success in the Australian market during this time originated from its close and long standing association with MTU Detroit Diesel Australia and later Penske Australia which distributed VM Motori in Australia exclusively until 2020.
On September,1 2021 Genquip Pty Ltd (operating as VM Motori Australia) was appointed the official Australian distributor for the VM Motori range of Diesel engines for industrial, marine, agricultural, energy and fire pump purposes, as well as spare parts and service for all VM Motori engine products. Prior to this Genquip already had a long standing involvement with the VM Motori range of diesel engines having been an authorised reseller since 2011.
VM Motori Italy
VM Motori’s origins date back to 1947 when two entrepreneurs , Claudio Vancini and Ugo Martelli (hence the VM) began production in Cento, Italy designing and building diesel engines for the agricultural sector.
VM Motori industrial engines have been continually updated to satisfy ever changing demands. All industrial engines are put through exhaustive tests and final sign-off is only given once each engine has been tested in the field guaranteeing a high level of reliability.
In the 80s, VM Motori engines were also used in automobiles finding their way into cars produced by General Motors, Ford, Range Rover and Alfa Romeo. More recently VM Motoris high performance V6 direct diesel engines can be found in Jeep, Chrysler and Maserati cars & 4WD’s.
VM Motori is one of the few companies in the world to exclusively design and produce marine diesel engines in house at its plant in Cento (Italy). Major investments in R&D, together with the use of modern technology, put VM at the forefront of marine applications. VM Motori marine diesel leads the industry in power to weight ratios delivering heavy-duty propulsion in a lightweight compact package.
